Deron Mitchell Mitchell 1 June 3, 2009 Why did the Cold War happen? From the year 19451991, a very special war happened. This very special war was c whollyed the Cold War. The Cold War was a war fought amid the join States and the Soviet Union. Although they were on the same alliance during WWII, they as yet had their differences because the Soviet Union was communist and the United States were capitalist. Americans also didnt want fabianism to gain strength within the United States. To prevent this from happening, the U.S sent troops to fight the spread of communism. not only did the U.S solicitude communism, moreover Stalin feared that anti-Soviets governments would move to Eastern atomic number 63s border. Therefore, the Cold War happened because the U.S didnt want communism to spread. After WWII ended, the leader of the Soviet Union, Joseph Stalin, made promises to nations of Eastern europium and installed pro-Soviet governments throughout Easter Europe. The president of the United States, Harry Truman, was white-lipped of letting the pro-Soviet government spread communism around the world. With all of these disagreements, a war was started.
